Nes

Nes is a graffiti writer from Blok 45, active since the late 1990s. He started drawing in 1998 together with Hope and Noiz, inspired by comics and hardcore music rather than hip-hop.

Deeply shaped by the spirit of the Block 45, Nes draws both legal and illegal pieces: walls, trains, metal, glass – anything but canvas. His style combines old-school structure with influences from American and European scenes, from Ces and Seen to crews like WUFC and SDK.

After a brief hiatus in the 2000s, he returned to painting, driven by the same defiant energy: a need to turn frustration with the system into something creative. “You can take me out of Blok 45, but you’ll never take Blok 45 out of me”, he says in his interview for FortyFivers.
